Losing My Childhood

Okay, so before I begin on today's topic I just want to let you awesome people of the Internet know that I am committed to write this on time. Meaning my brother is hogging the computer and I am typing this on my phone at the moment. Anyways, today's topic is mainly about losing my childhood. Let me explain.

So, everyone has a childhood game or tv show or toy that they feel  nostalgic about. And we are losing those things to today's world of "The next big thing". For example I don't see kids playing Nintendo 64 or a game boy anymore. To the kids today it's all about stuff such as the oculus rift or the DS. Companies are trying to hard to compete with one another by putting out the most product or the newest product. What happened to making things that would stick around for a long time and  were actually good and made people satisfied and happy? It's okay that big name companies want to move further along the technological road, but I miss the things that were old or video games with a decent story line and story progression. This is even happening in the world of tv (in a similar way).

I only watch 4 tv shows. I will list them from favorites. Psych, Doctor Who, Teen Wolf, Cold Case. And on occasion re-runs of Full House. I like those shows a lot, but there were some good tv shows that were cancelled. For example, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Hannah Montana, the old version of Spongebob(you know before it became demented), Looney Tunes, That's So Raven, Suite Life of Zack and Cody, iCarly. I could go on forever. And the networks that used to have good shows I think are running out of ideas. Like Disney Channel makes pretty good movies, but the tv shows are so bad. I try not to go to that channel as much as possible because their shows are terrible. They don't make sense, their humor is tired, and Disney cancelled all the good shows that it used to have. Same as Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network the same thing happens. The show quality goes down, they cancel the good shows, and they run out of good ideas.

So basically I am feeling very nostalgic and I miss "the good old days". Don't get me wrong I do get excited if something new comes out, but I feel that not enough people go back and play the old good games or try to watch the shows that used to be on. I am so thankful for the Wii online game shopping because you can get the old games such as Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask. The awesome old games like that you know so well. So today maybe you super awesome people of the Internet could write in the comments on what you miss from the last that was wiped out in today's world. Let it be a tv show a video game or even a toy. Anyways I will write to all you awesome people of the Internet next week on Monday! -PurplePainter321 (p.s. I just made a Twitter account. I know finally! But it is one digit off my username because it was too long. It came out as PurplePainter32. Oh well close enough I guess.)

  1. Emma, you are making me laugh:D I love getting little glimpses into your world.

I know how you feel. I get attached to things too and don't like the way the world changes so quickly!

So the "Good Ol' Days" for me included spending hours hiking and exploring the river and forest in my back yard, and playing night games with all the cute neighborhood boys, and sleeping out on the trampoline with my best friends every friday night. Life was good and simple and less complicated and I miss it too:)
