Losing My Childhood

Okay, so before I begin on today's topic I just want to let you awesome people of the Internet know that I am committed to write this on time. Meaning my brother is hogging the computer and I am typing this on my phone at the moment. Anyways, today's topic is mainly about losing my childhood. Let me explain.

So, everyone has a childhood game or tv show or toy that they feel  nostalgic about. And we are losing those things to today's world of "The next big thing". For example I don't see kids playing Nintendo 64 or a game boy anymore. To the kids today it's all about stuff such as the oculus rift or the DS. Companies are trying to hard to compete with one another by putting out the most product or the newest product. What happened to making things that would stick around for a long time and  were actually good and made people satisfied and happy? It's okay that big name companies want to move further along the technological road, but I miss the things that were old or video games with a decent story line and story progression. This is even happening in the world of tv (in a similar way).

I only watch 4 tv shows. I will list them from favorites. Psych, Doctor Who, Teen Wolf, Cold Case. And on occasion re-runs of Full House. I like those shows a lot, but there were some good tv shows that were cancelled. For example, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Hannah Montana, the old version of Spongebob(you know before it became demented), Looney Tunes, That's So Raven, Suite Life of Zack and Cody, iCarly. I could go on forever. And the networks that used to have good shows I think are running out of ideas. Like Disney Channel makes pretty good movies, but the tv shows are so bad. I try not to go to that channel as much as possible because their shows are terrible. They don't make sense, their humor is tired, and Disney cancelled all the good shows that it used to have. Same as Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network the same thing happens. The show quality goes down, they cancel the good shows, and they run out of good ideas.

So basically I am feeling very nostalgic and I miss "the good old days". Don't get me wrong I do get excited if something new comes out, but I feel that not enough people go back and play the old good games or try to watch the shows that used to be on. I am so thankful for the Wii online game shopping because you can get the old games such as Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask. The awesome old games like that you know so well. So today maybe you super awesome people of the Internet could write in the comments on what you miss from the last that was wiped out in today's world. Let it be a tv show a video game or even a toy. Anyways I will write to all you awesome people of the Internet next week on Monday! -PurplePainter321 (p.s. I just made a Twitter account. I know finally! But it is one digit off my username because it was too long. It came out as PurplePainter32. Oh well close enough I guess.)

Disorganized Blog

Hey all you awesome people of the Internet! PurplePainter321 here with another Monday blog. It is a few hours later than when I usually write these, but my brother was on the computer for at least four hours. At least I passed the time by watching the movie "To Kill A Mockingbird".  I haven't seen it since I was nine. When I saw that it was on yesterday I was so pumped I just had to record it. Partly because I haven't seen it in forever, it is an awesome movie, and I read the book a few months ago. Anyways, if you ask me that movie is a definite five stars to me.

So last week I was talking about the game Runner 2. I bought it on Steam that day and believe me I loved it from the very start. I played a full hour non-stop that day playing the game. It is so fun I played it every day that week each time loving it and getting super awesome at it.(Don't mean to brag but so far every time I get a chance to get a bonus point I get a bulls-eye) :).  So if you are thinking about getting this game and you want to get a second opinion, I have an opinion to share. This game shows uniqueness, good graphics, fun to play(a little addictive even), and just outstanding in the all around game.

So, lately I have been looking at the little map that you see in the blog overview and I click the 'more' button. It turns out that their were people from the Netherlands and Germany who actually looked at my blog! That to me is just amazing. Personally I thought this was going to be more like keeping a journal and no one would actually care or take the time to even look at my posts. But, this is just amazing to me. Even though I don't have many followers(one), that kind of stuff doesn't matter to me. I mean even my YouTube channel has only one subscriber, but I don't care. I only care about making videos about the stuff I love. At the moment that stuff is just art and a school project. To me you do something because you love it. You shouldn't care about people giving you criticism or how many pageviews or channels views or any of that stuff. If people like you content that is great, but you shouldn't care about how many people like or don't like it. But,  means the world to me if someone cares.

Quick story, relating to that. I actually checked my channel one day a couple weeks ago, and someone left a comment on one of my recent videos. It said, "Great job!" That kind of thing just warms my heart and has me thinking that someone out there actually does watch my videos and likes them or reads my blog. Even though I don't care about how many people watch or read anything I do, though I care that someone genuinely likes something I have done. Okay, let us move on.

Okay, so I have been playing a large amount of Legend of Zelda recently. Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword and Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess. One (Skyward Sword) I am trying to beat for a second time in hero mode. The other (Twilight Princess) I am trying to beat. So I am at the second to last dungeon in Twilight Princess and I totally messed up. I unlocked a door, went inside, figured out how to get another door open, door opens, I go into the room, it is not a boss(thankfully), it's an open room, door closed. And guess what.... You can't get the stupid door open again! So I basically locked myself in a room that I can't do anything with because I went through wrong locked door. I skipped everything that was important and crucial that I had to do and got myself trapped. I decided, screw that place, I teleported out to do some side quests. Side quests are basically you running around doing small menial tasks while you try to figure something out. So I guess in Twilight Princess I am stuck doing side quests.

Sorry for the disorganized blog today, and plus a bit of ranting about me messing up a game. And I will write to you people of the Internet next week on Monday!(Hopefully on time) See Ya!-PurplePainter321

Right Turn or Left Turn?

Hey everybody, PurplaPainter321 here. I am at a cross roads. I have to choose either the right turn or the left turn. Being who I am I get very confused in these kind of situations. If I choose one or the other I am afraid that I chose the wrong path and feel guilty about what I could have done differently. In a sense I am at a crossroads in real life at the moment. I choose to play a sport that on occasion I enjoy and dread every time I play it because I am terrified of messing up or not doing well. Or I choose my own path and find a sport I really enjoy and join the team or whatever.

I get a sick feeling in my stomach every time I try to talk with my parent and tell my situation. Mainly because I am terrified of what the parent will think (And if you are reading this stick with me for a moment). My parent tries to tell me stories from the past to try to relate my situation to their past ones. But, I have a totally different situation. I have a parent that absolutely loves a sport that I can enjoy on occasions and have it as a hobby, and I feel guilty every time my parent tries to talk to me about staying with it and not being a quitter. Well, I think I have something to say.

"I am not a quitter. I am just open to other sports.  Even though you love the sport, it doesn't mean I have to. I know you spent some money on supplies, and I thank you for supporting me. If you could just give me a chance to explore outside of this sport. Don't try and lecture me, because each time you do I get a sick, guilty, sad feeling in my stomach and I just want to leave. So don't take this the wrong way. I still love you and appreciate what you do. Think of it as an opportunity for me to expand my talents to new sports. "

Ugh. I am so glad to get that off my chest. It is easier to say something like that online than in person. What do you guys  think? So let us get down to business.

Okay, so it is 9:30 a.m. and I am already spent thanks to cross country practice. I haven't run for a couple weeks and that was probably the worst decision a future runner could make. Because, I barely made it through the warm up without stopping. At the end of the 10 minute warm up I was breathing like I had asthma, ran a marathon, and did an hour long cardiac work out. I guess I need to get back into the swing of things.

In other news, I really want to get Runner 2 on Steam because at the moment I have babysitting money and Runner 2 is only $14.99 (translation: 15 dollars). I have seen let's plays of Runner 2 and it seems like a)fun game, b)looks cool, and c)I would most definitely have fun playing it. If any of you gamers out there have played this game and are reading this blog, comment and tell me your opinion on it.

Anyways, this has been a sort of rushed blog I just wanted to get that first part out of my system. Believe me I have had fun playing the sport it is just not something I want to pursue. So, if you read the blog all the way through, good on you. If not, I wouldn't blame you for not wanting to hear me whine for the first little bit. Have a super awesome week, and I will write to all you people of the Internet on Monday! :) See Ya! -PurplePainter321

Hello People of the Internet

Hey everyone PurplePainter321 here and this is my first blog. I am sort of new at this and I don't really know much about blogging. I started this because I feel that blogging is a cool thing to do and it will help me practice my people skills I guess.  Anyways, Summer is here and I need something to do. I had to make a list of things to do during this three month break from the prison known as school. Believe me it is short. I only have like five things on there. Summer is going to be even more boring than school if I don't figure out more things to do during the day.

The topics for future blogs are going to be a bit diverse because I try to do everything from hanging out with my friends to hard core gaming(or even art :D). So maybe next blog will have nothing to do with the past one. I have no idea. But,  I do know what to say in this blog. I will tell you people a bit about me.

Okay, so the first things first, my name or title of these blogs. I got it from my YouTube channel. The way I came up with my YouTube username was actually different beforehand. I wanted to have PurplePainter as my username because that is my school color and I am an artist. And I got a huge surprise. Turns out someone actually came up with that before me. You know the feeling that you came up with something really unique but... nope! Some person came up with it already. I was really surprised and I even laughed. So I just did the usual 321.

Next, my interests. Believe it or not your interests on your blog can have a huge impact on who follows and reads you. For example, if I talk about stuff like cooking, there will be a person that doesn't like to hear about that stuff and won't read my content. So, in this I will tell you some of my interests. For one thing I absolutely love to read, if I really am into a book that I got pretty much that morning I can easily finish it before too long.

Another thing I like to due is obviously, art. When I feel like drawing something I go to town and draw for close to an hour or more. I have my own unique style of doing things. Because one time I was drawing an eye, a human eye, my dad thought it was an animal eye mainly because it wasn't an exact replica of an average human eye. Anyways you guys don't want to hear a teen complain about difference of opinion.

For all you gamers out there, I love to play video games. My favorite kind of games usually are the old fashioned kind. I even still have a Gameboy. But, my absolute favorite game, or game series of sorts, is the Legend of Zelda games. It has a great story line and it is just fun. I also play other games such as Minecraft, Super Mario Bros. Melee, etc. You get the idea.

But, I don't spend all my time gaming. I am also in the process of writing a book. So I guess... you can call me an author. Maybe an author-in-progress at the moment. If you want I can tell you the basic story line in some future blog. If anyone actually reads this. I guess if no one reads this it could be like journalism. But, I don't like the idea of writing to myself. I think I might eventually question my sanity.

Okay, this blog is sort of dragging on due to the lack of topics. So, I guess I will see you guys next Monday or earlier if something exciting happens. See ya! -PurplePainter321
